Shen Yueyue Calls for Women's Contributions to a Successful Beijing 2022

Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), visited women volunteers, university students and staff members of women's federations at the grassroots level at a warehouse for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on January 30. Shen hailed their dedicated spirit and preparatory work for the Games, and extended Spring Festival greetings to them.

Shen stressed implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches on preparations for the Beijing 2022, and urged them to make joint efforts to ensure a successful Winter Olympics. She also encouraged them to greet the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China through concrete action.

During her visit, Shen learned more about their work and epidemic prevention and control. Women college students expressed their pleasure in participating in and serving the Winter Olympics. Shen spoke highly of their performance in the Games' preparatory work and noted that volunteering for the Games is not only a hard-won opportunity and an honor, but also their share of national responsibility.

Shen hoped they would show Games participants the hospitality and good manners of the Chinese people and promote the Olympic spirit, contributing to a streamlined, safe and splendid Olympic Games for the world. She also asked them to protect themselves from the epidemic and stay warm.

A series of Winter Olympics celebrations are in full swing in Beijing. Organized by women's federations at the community level in Beijing, some women embroiderers have prepared Olympic gifts such as paper cuttings and silk figurines, which are on display in the Olympic Village.

Shen affirmed their efforts to promote the Olympic spirit and Chinese culture, and gave a thumbs-up to their exquisite workmanship. She also urged staff members of women's federations to give more care to volunteers and family members and help solve their problems.

Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, also attended the activity.
